For the opening of the sports complex, custom for people with disabilities near Ada Safari, on 700m2, with courts for basketball, football, volleyball and tennis, there was a manifestation of "People with disabilities and friends on Ada to meet the Universiade."

09 July 2009, on the sports field Ada Safari, held a day-long sporting event "PWD and friends on Ada to meet the Universiade 2009".

On this manifestation participated persons with disabilities, public figures, politicians, students and many others who competed in darts, table tennis, badminton, basketball and football. There were 130 persons with disabilities, and 120 people without disabilities.

According to Darko Ivic, President Hendi Center Coloseum, who also initiated the building, the Center includes four courts for basketball, tennis, volleyball and basketball, which are adapted for people with disabilities. He added that the bathrooms built and by all international standards, as well as excellent access to all terrains.

In sports competitions participated and Bozidar Đelic, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Snežana Samardžić-Marković, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dragan Djilas, Belgrade mayor, Aleksandar Antić, President of the City Assembly, Aleksandar Kovacevic, City Secretary for Sports and Youth.

- It is nice that open space that is specific in the whole of Southeast Europe, a complex that is fully adapted for people with specific needs. The fact is that Serbia is recovering, but we are far from the final goal and a lot of effort and hard work ahead of us. But it's nice that the advisory body to the mayor's cabinet in such a short time managed to achieve concrete results - said Bozidar Djelic.

Mayor Đilas thanked everyone who supported the idea that people with disabilities receive a place where they can play sports like all other citizens.

Minister Snežana Samardžić-Marković said that the construction of the sports complex is a good example of cooperation between government and civil society, and added that the Ministry of the project with the help of six million. Aleksandar Antić urged owners of private companies or public enterprises to employ more people with disabilities. Apart from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, about 2.5 million pounds to build this business, invested and public company Ada Ciganlija and Čukarica municipality.
