In the building of the municipality Vračar 31 August 2010, held a press conference to present the first service of psychosocial support and personal assistance for people with disabilities in Belgrade.

This service, which will start operating on 1 September 2010, is organized Hendi Center "Coloseum” with the support of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.

President Hendi Center "Coloseum" Darko Ivic and representatives of the municipality of Vračar, Palilula, Stari grad, Novi Beograd, and Savski venac have signed a cooperation agreement which provides that municipalities cover part of the costs of this center.

Agency for the provision of services to persons with disabilities "Coloseum" will be located in the Dorćolat Pančićeva 14, and will be working from 9 am to 17 pm. In cooperation with the National Employment Service announced a competition for the occupation of a personal assistant. The training lasted for six months and it completed by 11 assistants, out of 120 candidates. Personal assistance services include assistance with mobility, personal hygiene and hygiene of the apartment, movement, communication, preparation and sourcing of food and everything else that users or people with disabilities need help.

Assistants are available to customers from 8 to 20 hours, and if need be, will be organized, and assistance 24 hours a day. On the territory of these six municipalities have between 30 and 50 users of personal assistance.
