Organized by the Association of Citizens “Hendi Coloseum” from Belgrade in the building of new municipalities Subotica, 9 August 2013, held a panel discussion dedicated to improving the situation of people with disabilities.

The panel was attended by local government representatives, guests from Belgrade municipality of Old town, as well as representatives from Subotica associations of persons with disabilities. The aim of discussions was the presentation of the project related to the improvement of personal assistance services and run information centers in several towns in Serbia.

Dejan Djokic is member of the organization "Center for Real Life," which works to improve the situation of persons with disabilities. One of their activities is the training of personal assistants. Dejan explains how much it means to the help of a personal assistant in daily life.

As part of the project related to the improvement of personal assistance services and run information centers in several cities in Serbia, their experiences with the audience on the opening of the first agencies to provide services to personal assistance quoted a representative of the Belgrade City Municipality Old town.

He pointed out that the new Law on Social Protection has imposed an obligation for local governments to provide these and similar services that would allow life without barriers of socially vulnerable categories of the population.
